Care and Conservation

Many organisations these days pay lip service to “green” issues. At William Jackson Food Group we go much further. Our genuine concern for the environment and the need to minimise, as far as is practical, the impact of our activities upon it have led to the development of a detailed Environmental Policy. This is vigorously monitored and implemented throughout the Group.

It is fair to say that we do not consider any of our businesses to be inherently damaging to the environment – but we have nevertheless identified several aspects of our operations where proper concern is appropriate.

  • The consumption of energy
  • The use of packaging materials
  • The control of emissions
  • The use of transport
  • The minimisation and treatment of waste
  • The control of noise in residential areas
  • The visual appearance of our premises

These headings provide guidance and encouragement to management and staff throughout the company on the pursuit of environmentally beneficial programmes, and enable progress in environmental matters to be monitored at both divisional and group level.
