Higher Education Grants

Help is given to the children of employees who are about to enter or are already in higher education. The actual sum depends on the number of applicants but in 2007, £29,760 was shared by 31 young people. We hope this provides both help and encouragement to the dependants of our colleagues in the business.

Sports Grants

There is a strong view that sporting activities should be encouraged. To that end, financial support is provided to activities and clubs where employees or their children have an involvement. This is in the form of one-off grants of up to £500 to spend on anything that will aid in the pursuit of their chosen sport such as training, equipment, clothing or travel costs to competitions.
Donations have varied from the more normal club kit, to a husky dog racing team and supporting the daughter of someone who works in Jackson’s Bakery to sail on the Australia to China leg of the Clipper round the world yacht race in the Hull & Humber yacht.
