Aunt Bessie’s Limited is part of the William Jackson Food Group, a diversified food manufacturing business founded in Hull in 1851. The founder's great, great grandson is the current Chairman, Nicholas Oughtred.
The company started as a tea merchant with one shop in Hull and today consists of a portfolio of four food manufacturing companies. At stages in the development of the group the business diversified into car retailing, shop fitting and data processing; until the sale of the Jackson’s convenience retail chain in 2004, food retail had formed a core element of the business.
