In addition to chairing the Group Board, Nicholas is responsible for communicating with the Shareholder community, managing the group’s property portfolio and insurance arrangements and, most importantly, ensuring that the group’s culture is properly understood and its values upheld.

Nicholas is a graduate of Stirling University where he obtained a BA Honours in Business Studies with Economics. He joined the William Jackson Group in 1983 holding various roles in the Crystal Motor Group and CarWorks until the businesses were sold in 2003, at which time he was Managing Director. In 2003 Nicholas was appointed Group Company Secretary, a role which he relinquished when he was made a Director of the Group Board in June 2006 prior to becoming Chairman in January 2007.

Nicholas is fond of the outdoor life, skiing during the season and holidaying away from it all with his wife and children in places such as Iceland and the Faroe Islands.
