Gary Urmston
Finance Director
As Finance Director, Gary is responsible for the financial robustness of the Group. This involves ensuring we have sufficient funds to support our growth plans and that an appropriate corporate governance framework is in place throughout the Group. Gary works closely with subsidiary finance directors in developing our financial capability.
Gary is a Chartered Accountant and a graduate of the University of Manchester. He joined the Group in August 2009 after three years with Northern Foods plc, where he held a number of senior finance positions, most recent of which was Finance Director of the Recipe Dish business. Prior to his time at Northern Foods plc, Gary was a Divisional Finance Director for British Vita plc and spent five years with KPMG.
Outside of work, Gary is a keen sports follower, and can often be found watching his football team, Manchester City, but also watches cricket and rugby as well as playing golf. He also likes to travel with his partner and two children, where he enjoys experiencing the local culture and of course the local food.
